Bamfield Parent Meeting | Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 4:45 PM
We are only weeks away from our Grade 8 and 9 students who are attending Bamfield will be taking off for their adventure the first week of March. Parents are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, February 17 to review packing lists and complete final documentation.

Calling All Creative Types | Drama Production
Calling all creatives, artists, and tech theatre enthusiasts. Drama Club is looking for students interested in prop design, backdrop design, painting, and/or sound and lighting work who would like to get involved in a different way.
Tech Theatre members can work on their tasks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays at lunch in the Drama Room, or on their own time if they choose.
There are a number of opportunities available. If you are interested, please see Ms. Chalmers or Ms. Bailey to join the Tech Theatre team and be assigned a task.
Reporting Timeline | February 24, 2026
Following the disruption of classes in October, CBE has adjusted the reporting timeline to allow students to complete learning cycles, which will adjust the first report card.
February 24 – Report cards available for viewing in MyCBE by students and parents/legal guardians. Paper copies may be requested through your homeroom teacher.

Cell Phone Policy | Alberta Government Mandate
Phones, earbuds, and digital watches must be:
- Turned off or set to silent
- Stored away in backpacks and lockers
- Used off campus before school, at lunch, and after school
We continue to support students in engaging in learning to the best of their ability, which includes limiting distractions during instructional time. Thank you for your support.
Repeated reminders will be addressed through Progressive Discipline, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Gym Strip
Students must change each day for gym class.
- John Ware t-shirt (required for SLC)
- Athletic bottoms (shorts, sweats, leggings, etc.) – may be brought from home
- Sweatshirt or hoodie (for outdoor classes and walking to SLC) – may be brought from home
- Athletic shoes (no boots, Crocs, sandals, etc.)
Athletic wear orders can be made at www.myschoolzone.ca/jws.
Student Health Plan
Families are asked to complete and submit a Student Health Plan:
- If a physical or medical condition may affect the student’s attendance at school
- If medication is to be taken at school
- Annually, or sooner if there is a change in the student’s health concern or school registration

The centre offers therapeutic support through a day hospital and community-based treatment. Walk-in services are available for anyone under 18 years of age and their family who would like to speak with a counsellor. No referral is required.
