Welcome back! We are excited to welcome students back to school for the 2026-2027 school year!

Lunch Supervision
Supervision is provided within the school, the school grounds and at Southland Leisure Centre during lunch. Students participating in lunch clubs will also be supervised by staff.
Lockers
Students will be assigned a shared locker with a classmate on the first day of school. Students must use locks provided by the school. Students will receive a phys ed locker for daily gym classes.

Fees will be charged to your MyCBE account beginning in October.
Transportation
Parking
Parents & visitors are asked to please park in the lot at Southland Leisure Centre, or on the street. Parking in the lot is for staff only, thank you.

School Supplies
Junior High students are required to provide their own school supplies. Any materials required for Options / CTF classes are provided (purchased with student course fees).
- Cutlery (spoon, fork) for use at lunch; we do not provide utensils 😊
- Labeled water bottle
- Binders 3, 2-inch binders (Humanities, SMATH & collection binder for previous units)
- Paper – lined (approx. 600 sheets)
- Paper – grid paper (graphing)
- Pencils - 2 dozen HB or mechanical (buy refill leads that fit – usually 7mm)
- Erasers (2-3)
- Pencil sharpener with collection section for shavings
- White board markers (thin) - 6 or more
- Small scissors
- Pencil case (or two – 1 for the geometry set, markers, etc.)
- Fine tipped sharpies
- Pencil crayons
- Dividers 2 packages
- Geometry set (protractor & compass)
- Calculator – Grades 7 & 8 basic calculator is appropriate. Grade 9 teachers will recommend a scientific calculator.
Students must change for gym class each day.
- John Ware t-shirt (required for SLC)
- Athletic bottoms (shorts, sweats, leggings, etc.), sweatshirt/hoodie (for outdoor classes & walking to SLC) *can be brought from home
- Athletic shoes – no boots, Crocs, sandals, etc.

Clubs & Activities
Athletics
Soccer and cross-country will get going as soon as school starts. Any interested students will be invited to a meeting in the first week. Teams: Soccer Cross-country running Basketball Volleyball Badminton Track & Field
Extra Curricular Activities & Clubs
A broad range of clubs will be offered throughout the year. Please see the website for updates.
Yearbook
Yearbook orders are made through the company providing the service and will be shared with families each spring. Approximate cost is $35.00
Personal Digital Device Policy
Students will be asked to silence and stow their personal digital devices each day. CBE’s “Away for the Day” guidelines apply to K-9 students and aligns with Ministerial Order #014/2024: Standards for the Use of Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media in Schools. These guidelines will be communicated with parents and guardians each school year.
