We Need Your Help!
The 2026 John Ware Casino date has been set for April 25 & 26, 2026! This is the most important fundraising activity we do as a school. It also means we aren't bugging you to sell things or participate in multiple fundraisers throughout the year. Approximately, Casino funding contributes $80,000 to our school! Our Biggest Fundraiser of the Year!

How does this benefit my student at John Ware School?
Thanks to all our volunteers at our last casino, John Ware was able to provide our Children with:
- Computers and new rolling carts
- A new display screen and projector in the gym
- Reading materials for all grades
- Materials for classrooms, including 3D Printer, CNC Machine & Computer (Construction), new iPads for photography, etc.
- Funds to support school activities and clubs, speakers and special events (wellness day)
There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Going shopping? Consider picking up extras for hungry kids
We have many growing bodies, who need a little extra each day. If you notice a great deal on snack items, please consider throwing an extra box in your cart to donate to the school to support kids who need some additional food. Many thanks.
Making some dough – COBS Bread at Glenmore Landing When you purchase items at Glenmore Landing Cobbs, please say you are with John Ware School, and a portion of your purchase will come back to the school each year.
Donating to Our School
Ways to give to our school include:
Monetary (cash) Donation
- I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
- Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
- Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
- I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
- Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
