Health & Wellness at the CBE

At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Nutrition

The CBE and John Ware’s nutrition policies are aligned to focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle, which includes physical fitness and nutrition. Junk food is discouraged and in some cases not allowed on campus. We encourage students who are leaving the school for lunch to make healthy choices, if they are going to purchase their food. Sugary and/or caffeinated beverages will not be allowed in school and we may ask students to empty them. We appreciate parental support in ensuring students have healthy snacks and lunches at school.
