Grade 9 Farewell Celebration | June 13
Grade 9 students and their families will be receiving information in the coming weeks relating to the upcoming farewell celebration. We will have an afternoon ceremony in the gym with speeches and awards, followed by a fun evening at Heritage Park for students which includes rides, dinner and a dance.
To be able to participate in the dinner and dance at Heritage Park, students need to be fulfilling their responsibilities under the student code of conduct. This means:
- Attending classes regularly and in a timely manner
- Completing work to the best of their ability
- Following school rules and the direction of school staff
- Contributing to a safe and caring school environment
Two-Spirited Peoples is May 15.
We hope one day we can stop sewing flowers because we as a country have come together to address this legacy of colonialism and ensured everybody gets safely home.
Have You Paid your Fees?
Reminder to families to please make payments to their fees in MyCBE accounts.
Did you know?
Did you know families who apply for a system waiver, are not eligible for Junior High course fees to be waived? Unfortunately, course fees are not through the system (CBE) and are based on the classes your child(ren) take to pay for the materials to support their learning. Unpaid course fees come out of the school’s budget, which we do not have funding to cover.
It is important families check their PowerSchool accounts, because unpaid fees roll over each year, and will need to be managed prior to high school graduation.
Students with outstanding fees will not be able to “cross the stage” for graduation until dealt with. If your family is facing financial difficulty, please consider speaking with someone at CBE to seek options for managing fees through:
Questions about fees & waivers
Q. What happens if I cannot afford the fees?
No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay. There are several ways to be considered eligible for a waiver. More details regarding waivers can be found at https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers/Pages/Waivers.aspx
Applications can be made online at MyCBE.
