Weekly UpdateSeptember 5 2025 Weekly Update John Ware

John Ware Families

We did it! We had everyone show up on Tuesday, classes organized, and options classes scheduled. Thank you to families for your ongoing communication in support of your child’s learning, appreciating the limitations of our ability to shift classroom assignments with the 20+ hours of staff work creating classes and their scheduling in programs.

We are so thrilled with the positive energy and attitude of our students and their enjoyment of coming back to school and making new friends. We have heard from many new students they really like the school and feel very welcome – good work families, this is a reflection on you and your modeling of care to others.

Fall Sports Opportunities

On Monday, September 8 students interested in participating in Soccer (boys and girls) and the Cross Country Running Team. Students can attend the meetings to determine their interest in participating in these sports groups. Students do not need a completed athletic tryout form until tryout dates.

MONDAY: Soccer Meeting Lunchtime in the gym, Cross Country Meeting After school on the back drypond

Action Required | Annual Student Forms

Each year, schools have a variety of forms parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. For families who have not yet completed these annual forms, please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sept. 15. These forms are required every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding.

We recognize many families have already completed Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms for their children for the 2025-26 school year and we thank you for taking time to submit them.

Student Health Plan

Families are asked to complete and submit a student health plan:

  • if a physical or medical condition may affect the student’s attendance at school;
  • if medication is to be taken at school; and
  • updated annually or sooner if there is a change in the student’s health concern or school registration.
