We are back at what we do best and are thoroughly enjoying getting to know our students and creating a positive classroom community. We will continue to plan opportunities for students to develop a sense of belonging within classes and the greater John Ware community.

Forms

Families are reminded to please complete the annual forms for each student, to confirm contact information, and provide consent for sharing of information.

  • Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This required form is an Alberta Education requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
  • Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
  • Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:
    • School District Use of Personal Information
    • Consent for CBE Use of Student Information
    • Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party)

Families of students with an Individual Program Plan (IPP) will connect with homeroom teachers in the coming week to discuss goal development for this term. Goals will be set and copies of their IPPs will be sent home by mid-October. 

Welcome Back BBQ Sept. 18 | 5: 100 – 7:00

Join us for our annual Welcome Back BBQ & Open House from 5:00-7:00 pm. Come by for a hot dog, meet staff, and connect with community. Teachers will be in classrooms to answer questions and share information with families to support a great year of school.

Orange Shirt Day | Friday Sept. 26

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

Students and staff are invited to wear orange for the week of September 22-26 as treaty people in recognition of the impact of residential schools and as an act of ReconciliACTION through committing to creating a better world and community for all.

Terry Fox Run | Friday, Oct. 3

Students will participate in our annual Terry Fox Run in an effort to help raise funds for cancer research. Families are welcome to come to the school to participate in our school run. 

Students have the opportunity to “buy” tickets to pie a teacher in the face – when students raise funds, they are eligible for a ticket to enter to pie a teacher in the face at our Terry Fox Pep Rally in October.
